Disk–wind Connection during the Heartbeats of Grs 1915+105

چکیده
Disk and wind signatures are seen in the soft state of Galactic black holes, while the jet is seen in the hard state. Here we study the disk-wind connection in the ρ class of variability in GRS 1915+105 using a joint NuSTAR-Chandra observation. The source shows 50 sec limit cycle oscillations. By including new information provided by the reflection spectrum, and using phase-resolved spectroscopy, we find that the change in the inner disk inferred from the blackbody emission is not matched by reflection measurements. The latter is almost constant, independent of the continuum model. The two radii are comparable only if the disk temperature color correction factor changes, an effect that could be due to the changing opacity of the disk caused by changes in metal abundances. The disk inclination is similar to that inferred from the jet axis, and oscillates by ∼ 10◦. The simultaneous Chandra data show the presence of two wind components with velocities between 500-5000 km s−1, and possibly two more with velocities reaching 20, 000 km s−1(∼ 0.06 c). The column densities are ∼ 5 × 10 cm−2. An upper limit to the wind response time of 2 sec is measured, implying a launch radius of < 6×10 cm. The changes in wind velocity and absorbed flux require the geometry of the wind to change during the oscillations, constraining the wind to be launched from a distance of 290− 1300 rg from the black hole. Both datasets support fundamental model predictions in which a bulge originates in the inner disk and moves outward as the instability progresses. Connection between Accretion Disk and Superluminal Radio Jets and the Role of Radio Plateau State in Grs 1915+105
We investigate the association between the accretion disk during radio plateau state and the following superluminal relativistic radio jets with peak intensity varies from 200 mJy to 1000 mJy observed over a period of five years and present the evidences of direct accretion disc-jet connection in microquasar GRS 1915+105 . We have analysed RXTE PCA/HEXTE X-ray data and have found that the accre...
متن کاملThe Faint “heartbeats” of Igr J17091–3624: an Exceptional Black-hole Candidate
We report on the first 180 days of RXTE observations of the outburst of the black hole candidate IGR J17091–3624. This source exhibits a broad variety of complex light curve patterns including periods of strong flares alternating with quiet intervals. Similar patterns in the X-ray light curves have been seen in the (up to now) unique black hole system GRS 1915+105. In the context of the variabi...
متن کاملAnti-correlated Hard X-ray Time Lag in Grs 1915+105: Evidence for a Truncated Accretion Disc
Multi-wavelength observations of Galactic black hole candidate sources indicate a close connection between the accretion disk emission and the jet emission. The recent discovery of an anti-correlated time lag between the soft and hard X-rays in Cygnus X-3 (Choudhury & Rao 2004) constrains the geometric picture of the diskjet connection into a truncated accretion disk, the truncation radius bein...
متن کاملDisk−jet Connection in the Microquasar Grs 1915+105 and Ir and Radio Emission
We present evidence of a direct accretion disk − jet connection in the Galactic microquasar GRS 1915+105 based on our analysis of RXTE/PCA data with a “spike” in X-ray light curves. We find that the radio emission increases as the hardness ratio increases during the low hard state. We suggest that the “spike” which separates the dips with hard and soft spectra marks the beginning of the burst p...
متن کاملOn the source of QPO of the black hole candidate GRS 1915 + 105 : some new observations and their interpretation
A few classes of the light curve of the black hole candidate GRS 1915+105 have been analyzed in detail. We discover that unlike the previous findings, QPOs occasionally occur even in the so-called ‘On’ or softer states. Such findings may require a revision of the accretion/wind scenario of the black hole candidates. We conjecture that considerable winds which is produced in ‘Off’ states, cool d...
